Bio:
Zukiswa Zingela, M.D., is the clinical head of the Department of Psychiatry at the Dora Nginza Hospital Eastern Cape Department of Health and has been a specialist in psychiatry for the past 14 years. Zukiswa is involved in the supervision of multidisciplinary team community projects that focus on high school pupils’ psychoeducation on drug abuse, depression, and suicide. She is a member of the anti-stigma team within the South African Society of Psychiatrists (SASOP), and is a steering committee member responsible for advising the Youth Treatment Centre for Substance Misuse. Zukiswa has also been a consultant psychiatrist with National Health Service’s Lancashire Mental Health Care Trust. She is a Fellow of the College of Psychiatrists of South Africa, Master of Medicine with specialization in Psychiatry from the University of Pretoria, and has a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the University of Natal. Zukiswa is a Fellow of the tenth class of the Africa Leadership Initiative – South Africa and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
