Title and Organization:
Riedwaan Jabaar is co-founder and chief operating officer of Professional Provider Organisation Service (PPO Serve), a shared services hub start-up for clinicians with a vision to create transformed, commercial, and competitive healthcare systems that make healthcare more affordable for the South African population. Riedwaan previously served as an executive committee member for Discovery Health as well as a member of the executive committees for both Operations and Risk Strategy. In 2014 he served as Discovery’s head of Health Intelligence, a unit comprised of all the major data, analytics, and business intelligence functions. He has also served as head of Risk Intelligence, Business Intelligence, and Clinical R&D units. Riedwaan holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of South Africa, completed the University of Witwatersrand Management Advancement Program, and holds an M.B.A. specialized in Finance from the Gibson Institute of Business Science. His dissertation topic was titled: “Corporate Social Responsibility in an Inequitable Society: The Role of the Private Sector in the Bridging the South African Health Care Divide.” Riedwaan is a Fellow of the tenth class of the Africa Leadership Initiative – South Africa and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
