Bio:
Muitheri Wahome joined Investment Solutions in 2009 as head of technical solutions and is a member of the Exco. She has 18 years' experience in the financial services industry, first working at Barnard Jacobs Mellet as an insurance sector analyst from 1996 to 2001 before joining Alexander Forbes Asset Consultants. Here she held a number of consulting and investment positions during an eight-year career, including head of Alexander Forbes Asset Consultants, principal consultant, head of manager research and performance surveys, and was a member of the Investment Consulting committee. Muitheri has many professional achievements to her credit. She was rated top investment consultant by the Association of Black Securities and Investment Professionals (ABSIP) in 2004 and 2006, and was a rated analyst in the Financial Mail analyst survey in 2001 and Reuters survey in 1999. In 2006, she made the Financial Mail's list of influential people in the financial services industry. She is an editorial board member of Collective Insight, a quarterly industry magazine published in conjunction with Finance Week, and was a member of the FSB's Collective Investment advisory committee from 2006 to 2012. Muitheri is a regular speaker at industry conferences and enjoys writing articles on the evolution of the asset-management industry and on the retirement fund industry. She has a BCom (Hons) from the University of Nairobi and a diploma from the Chartered Insurance Institute in the UK. She also has an MBA from Wits Business School and attended an exchange programme with Duke University Fuqua School of Business. Muitheri is married and has three daughters. She is passionate about art and enjoys visiting artists and museums. Muitheri is a Fellow of the ninth class of the Africa Leadership Intiatiave-South Africa and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
