Bio:
Giles Gillett is the founder managing director of the New Leaders Foundation (NLF), a not-for-profit company operating in the education sector. NLF focuses on strengthening the capacity of district offices to improve learner performance in schools. Giles has worked in both the public and private sectors as a high school accounting teacher and counselor, a management consultant, a facilitator, an executive coach, and, currently, as a social entrepreneur. His core interest is in the effective management of change in large systems and his mission is to support the South African government to improve learner performance in the education system. Giles started his working life as a semi-professional cricket player, playing both in South Africa and abroad. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree (Financial Accounting) from the University of Cape Town, a Higher Diploma in Education and Psychology III from the University of South Africa, a Diploma in Advanced Practitioner Coaching from The Coaching Centre, and a Certificate in Social Entrepreneurship from the Gordon Institute of Business Studies. Giles is a Fellow of the eighth class of the Africa Leadership Initiative-South Africa and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
