Bio:
Xoliswa Kakana is the executive chairperson and group CEO at ICT-Works. She has been heavily active in the development of South Africa's information and communications technology (ICT) sector, actively participating in several policy formulation platforms including the BEE Charter Committee. She was founder and first chairperson of the Women in ICT Forum. Xoliswa was a finalist in the Businesswoman of the Year 2011. She sits on the board of Broadband Infraco and holds directorships in Omtha Engineering, ICT-Telecoms, and National Pride. She holds a BSc. Maths and Applied Maths from the University of Transkei; a Masters in Electronic Engineering from F.H. Giessen-Friedberg, Germany and an MBA from Henley College, London. Xoliswa has also received a Master's Degree in Technology Management and Innovation from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and a Master's Degree in Public Administration from Harvard University. She is a Fellow of the eighth class of the Africa Leadership Initiative-South Africa and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
