Linus W. Gitahi is group CEO of Nation Media Group, the biggest media firm in East and Central Africa. It comprises both print and electronic platforms. He joined NMG after a long career as a senior executive with pharmaceutical giant GlaxoSmithKline in East and West Africa, the Middle East, and Europe. Linus graduated with a bachelor of commerce (accounting major) from the University of Nairobi and earned a diploma in management from the Kenya Institute of Management. He also holds an MBA from the United States International University. Linus is chairman of the Federation of Kenya Employers, chairman of Sol Pajte Institute of Media at Rhodes University, chairman of Afrika Investment Bank, a board member of International Press Institute (IPI), board member of USIU, board member of the Media Council, Fellow of the Kenya Institute of Management (KIM), and a holder of the Moran of the Burning Spear from the Government of Kenya. He is a Fellow of the inaugural class of the Africa Leadership Initiative-East Africa and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
