Adelaide Addo-Fening is the regional program director for West and Central Africa of the Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO), an international development agency. She progressed from the position of program officer with VSO Ghana in May 1996 to her current position at VSO International. Adelaide is responsible for the management of six country offices including Cameroon, The Gambia, Guinea Bissau, Ghana, Nigeria and Sierra Leone. Her duties include the provision of leadership and strategic guidance to Country offices on the development and implementation of programs. Adelaide is currently pursuing an MA in democracy, governance, and law and has a Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology and Arabic. Adelaide was awarded membership to the Order of the British Empire in May 2004 by the Queen of England as an Honorary Officer of the British Empire. She currently serves on the steering committees of the DFID 'Rights and Voice Initiative' Fund and the World Bank Small Grants Program. She is married with three children. She is a Fellow of the inaugural class of the Africa Leadership Initiative-West Africa and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
