Dr. David Kalombo is a senior specialist for preventing mother to child transmission of HIV/AIDS for UNICEF. He was previously director for HIV/AIDS care at the South African Department of Health. He was a health adviser for Oscar Kashala's presidential campaign in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, where David grew up. David worked at Johannesburg Hospital, Hillbrow Hospital, South Rand Hospital, Edenvale Hospital, and Dr. George Mukhari Hospital, where he was a senior medical executive until 2004. He completed his internship at Groote Schuur Hospital in Cape Town and Sebokeng Hospital in the Vaal. He is currently completing his MBA from the Milpark Business School. Dr. Kalombo is also a born again Christian and a leader in the biggest French speaking church in South Africa under the Apostolic Faith Mission. He is a Fellow of the fourth class of the Africa Leadership Initiative-South Africa and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
