Mark Long is the owner of Long Supply Chain Consulting (Pty) Ltd, which specializes in the fast-moving consumer goods industry. Prior to starting his own consulting firm, he was managing director of DHL Consumer and Industrial South Africa. DHL serviced the logistics and distribution requirements within South and Southern Africa for companies like Unilever, Cadbury's, Johnson & Johnson, Kellogg's, British American Tobacco, GSK, and Pfizer, among others. He has worked with the logistics and supply chain industry for over 25 years. He holds patents in over thirty countries for his invention, which facilitates the optimisation of truck load carrying compartments and is called Volumax. He is based in Durban. He holds a theological diploma from ICI University, now Global University; a road transport diploma from the University of Johannesburg; and an MBA from Wales University. He is a Fellow of the fourth class of the Africa Leadership Initiative-South Africa and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
