Zeona Jacobs is chief corporate officer at Cell C (Pty) Ltd. She was previously chair of Lobedu Communications Group and managing director of Lobedu Leo Burnett. She has held some of the most sought-after and dynamic communication and marketing positions in South Africa, such as head of corporate communications for Cell C at the time of its launch, executive head of corporate communications at Telkom, director for communications at the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and joint managing director of a top South African advertising agency. She sits on the board of the Civic Theatre in Johannesburg, Jozi Dance Company, Endeavor, and Batswadi Pharmaceuticals and served in the past on the boards of Rand Water Services, the Rewards Company, Lobedu Communications, and the Advertising Communication Association. Zeona's proudest contribution to the development of her current employer and that of the country has been the launch of Take a Girl Child to Work Day in 2002. She is a Fellow of the fourth class of the Africa Leadership Initiative-South Africa and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
