Bio:
Maurice Radebe is the executive vice president of energy business for Sasol Limited. He is accountable for strategic business units that market Sasol's Energy products such as oil, gas and electricity in Southern Africa and Internationally. This includes developing and leading business strategy, ensuring competitive, sustainable advantage in markets Sasol participates and ensuring safe and reliable supply operations. It also includes gas-to-liquids Joint Venture Management. He was formerly Sasol Group executive manager for the portfolio incorporating corporate affairs, government relations, and enterprise development. His responsibility was to build, nurture and protect Sasol's corporate reputation in order to secure the 'license to operate and thrive.' Formerly, Maurice was managing director of Sasol Oil (Pty) Ltd running a company that delivered substantial profits. Prior marketing experience was obtained with Exel Petroleum and Shell South Africa, giving him more than twenty years of operational and strategic senior managerial experience in the oil industry. Maurice studied at Marianhill High School near Durban. He completed a BSc, majoring in applied mathematics and physics. Afterwards, he completed a diploma in education at Wits University, where he also received his MBA. He is a Fellow of the inaugural class of the Africa Leadership Initiative-South Africa and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
