Dr. Azmi is the founder of “Alexandrite Decisions”, supporting global decision making in our ever-changing world. Dr. Azmi served in the prior 10 years as a strategic adviser to one of the world's largest sovereign wealth funds, and started her career working at her family office, representing the third generation. Rania is a member of the executive education board at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and the Aspen Global Leadership Network. Previously, Rania also worked on development projects and consultancy with the European Commission, the International Finance Corporation and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization in Egypt. She received her Doctorate in Investment Decision Making from the University of Portsmouth and is the author of a book on Making Multiple-Objectives Decisions (Cambridge Scholars). Dr. Rania Azmi was chosen by the Asset International Magazine as one of the brightest “forty under forty” investment stars in 2013 and was designated a “Woman of Influence” by the Women Speakers Association in 2012. She is also volunteering locally and globally by supporting cancer awareness and cure, where she leads “Fadia Survive & Thrive” Association for cancer patients’ support.
