Bio:
Hisham El Rouby is the regional director in the Arab World for Synergos, focusing on the promotion of social entrepreneurship. He is also the founder and CEO of Etijah -- Youth and Development Consultancy Institute. He is working to help young Egyptians develop technical and leadership skills and become effective contributors to society by providing them with volunteering and employment opportunities. He is also the author of Volunteerism and Volunteer Management book, published by the American University in Cairo. Hisham is also the founder and CEO of V-Worx, a center of excellence for volunteerism in Egypt and across the Middle East. It aspires to empower youth, teenagers, not-for-profits, governmental organizations, universities and businesses by providing them with the skills, know-how and aptitudes, as well as contribute in building their capacity. V-Worx aims to promote innovative, scalable, and profitable social enterprises. Hisham is an Ashoka Fellow since 2003 and a Senior Fellow of Synergos since 2010. He is a Fellow of the fourth class of the Middle East Leadership Initiative and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
