Bio:
Mora Segal is Chief Executive Officer of The Achievement Network (ANet), a national nonprofit organization that partners with schools in underserved communities to ensure that all teachers are using the Common Core State Standards and regular cycles of achievement data to pinpoint instruction for their students. Since Mora joined in 2011, The Achievement Network has nearly doubled in size, currently partnering with over 470 schools nationwide. Under Mora's leadership, the organization has set a strategic plan to grow its impact to 250,000 students by 2017. Prior to joining The Achievement Network, Mora served as Chief Strategy Officer at College Summit, an organization focused on raising the college-going rate of low-income students nationwide. Segal also co-founded a high school sports media company which was acquired by ESPN in 2008. She was a fellow with the Coro Foundation in St. Louis, and served as an AmeriCorps member where she resettled refugees in the Boston area. Mora serves on the board of trustees of uAspire, a national college affordability organization, and is a founding board member of the Eli J. Segal Citizen Leadership Program. She is a graduate of Yale University and Harvard Business School, and lives in the Boston area with her husband and two daughters. Mora is a Fellow of the 9th class of the Pahara-Aspen Fellowship and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
