First Name:
Caroline
Last Name:
Roemer
Title and Organization:
Executive Director, Louisiana Association of Public Charter Schools
Bio:
Caroline Roemer is the Executive Director of the Louisiana Association of Public Charter Schools. Born and raised in Bossier City, Louisiana on a cotton and soybean farm, Caroline left Louisiana in 1991 to work around the country on political campaigns, eventually founding her own consulting firm, Roemer Bell, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Clients have included mayors, congressmen, governors and Fortune 500 companies. However, her Louisiana roots run deep and she made the decision to return to her home state following Hurricane Katrina in 2005. With more than 20 years of experience organizing, developing and managing corporate and political communications strategies and public policy initiatives, Caroline has led the Louisiana Association of Public Charter Schools from a membership of zero schools less than 5 years ago, to one of more than 90+ members from throughout the state. Caroline currently resides in New Orleans with her husband, John, a self-employed attorney and stay-at-home dad. They have a four-year-old magnificent boy, Owen, who shares space with Eddie, a 16-year-old Chihuahua, affectionately known as "The Worst Dog in America." She is a member of the fifth class of Aspen-Pahara Education Fellows and a Fellow of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
