Bio:
Abby Andrietsch is Co-Founder and Executive Director of Schools That Can Milwaukee (STCM). STCM envisions 20,000 Milwaukee students in high-performing schools by 2020, creating a tipping point for change in Milwaukee and serving as the first step in ensuring that all Milwaukee students receive a high-quality education. Leading a cross-sector collaboration of talented leaders from Milwaukee Public Schools and charter and voucher schools serving predominantly low-income students, STCM is intensely pursuing three strategies: 1) Expand and Replicate Local High-Performing Schools; 2) Develop High-Potential Schools into High-Performing Schools; and 3) Recruit High-Performing School Networks & Leaders to Milwaukee. Prior to launching Schools That Can Milwaukee, Abby was Vice President of Finance & Administration for a subsidiary of HUSCO International, a global automotive and off-highway component manufacturer. Before joining HUSCO, Abby worked as the Director of Policy and Programs at the Doris & Donald Fisher Fund and as a Summer Associate at the Broad Foundation. Prior to business school, she worked in investment banking at Robert W. Baird & Company in Chicago. Abby is a graduate of the University of Virginia and has an M.B.A and M.Ed. from Stanford University. She serves on the Alverno College Board of Trustees and the Acelero Learning Milwaukee County board. She lives in the Milwaukee area with her husband and daughter. Abby is a Fellow of the 10th class of the Pahara-Aspen Education Fellowship and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
