Bio:
Sherman Whites is currently a program officer for the K-12 Education team at the Walton Family Foundation. He is responsible for managing philanthropic investments that drive the foundation's core strategy of improving education through empowering parents to choose among high-performing schools. Sherman joined the Foundation in 2011 after working with charter schools in New Orleans as part of the Broad Foundation's Residency in Urban Education. Prior to his career in education, he acquired experience in operations and brand management from several market-leading organizations: Ford Motor Company, PepsiCo, Campbell Soup Company, and Target Corporation. He also served as an adjunct instructor at North Carolina Central University. Sherman earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Florida A&M University, and a MBA from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina. He is a Fellow of the 13th class of the Pahara-Aspen Education Fellowship and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
