Bio:
Doris Paéz is the Service Line Manager at Novant Health. Previously, she was the assistant professor in the department of psychology at Francis Marion University. She is the former executive director of Centers for Exceptional Children. Before taking on this role, she was executive director of Forsyth Futures. She was previously associate director there, and before that was a practicing psychologist and adjunct professor at North Carolina State University. She specialized in the fields of psychology and education for children with special needs, particularly those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. Doris was previously the executive director of the Metropolitan Studies Institute at the University of South Carolina Upstate. She has served on the faculties of Furman University, MUSC, New Mexico State University, and Florida International University. Doris has been a board member for several public and private organizations addressing education and mental health services for children and families including Success by 6, United Way of Greenville, the Northwest Crescent Child and Family Development Center, and SpringBrook Behavioral Health Systems. She is a former chair of the research committee for the South Carolina Association of School Psychologists and co-chair of the American Psychological Association Division 16 Ethics Committee. Doris earned a BA in psychology, an MA in education/behavioral sciences, and an EdS in school psychology from the University of South Florida, as well as a PhD in School Psychology with a concentration in bilingual special education from the University of Florida. She is a Fellow of the inaugural class of the Liberty Fellowship Program and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
