Bio:
Madeleine McGee serves as president for SC Association of Nonprofit Organizations, "SCANPO." This statewide membership association aims to strengthening SC nonprofits by building the sector's knowledge network, encouraging collaboration and providing a collective voice. It currently serves over 500 members and represents the thousands of active nonprofits in SC. SCANPO believes that well managed and responsibly governed nonprofits are vital for strong and healthy South Carolina communities. Madeleine grew up in Charleston and her family has deep roots in South Carolina. She's run start-ups efforts, as well as established nonprofits. She started in the 1980's running a downtown redevelopment effort in Georgetown, SC. She led the Coastal Community Foundation of SC located in Charleston for nearly ten years and oversaw its expansion to serve eight coastal counties. She's worked for local and state government and provided consulting services. She received her BA and MBA from the University of Virginia, is a SC Liberty Fellow and served on Sullivan's Island Town Council. She is perhaps most proud of being a Big Sister with the Big Brothers Big Sisters mentoring program.
