Samuel L. Erwin is the executive vice president and regional president of South Carolina for IBERIABANK. Previously, Sam was the President and CEO of The Palmetto Bank in Greenville, SC. Prior to joining The Palmetto Bank in 2009, he was CEO of Community Bancshares Inc. in Orangeburg, SC. Sam entered the banking world in 1990 and previously worked for First Union and South Carolina Bank & Trust. Sam serves on the boards of the Business Development Corporation of South Carolina, the Greenville Free Medical Clinic, The Palmetto Society of the United Way, and the Greenville Tech Foundation. He is actively involved in South Carolina Bankers Association, where he was named the 2005 Outstanding Young Banker. He also serves on the board of Ten at the Top , an organization committed to facilitating regional collaboration between organizations and government entities across the Upstate of South Carolina. Sam is member of Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond's Community Investment Council. He is a Cum Laude graduate of Clemson University with a degree in Financial Management with a concentration in Financial Institutions. He resides in Greenville.
