Octavia Williams-Blake has been with McLeod Health since 2002 in various positions in human resources and now serves as Vice President. Prior to joining McLeod Health, she held HR positions with Pepsi Bottling Group and Sony Electronics as well as the State Budget and Control Board. She served as a Law Clerk at the State Department of Social Services and Gergel, Nickles & Solomon. Octavia was elected in 2008 to the Florence City Council. She is a board member of Science South, which uses mobile science labs to teach educators how to expand the science curriculum for children. She also is a board member for Florence Young Professionals. She earned her J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law and a B.A. degree in public affairs and history, cum laude, from Columbia College. Octavia resides in Florence. She is a Fellow of the sixth class of the Liberty Fellowship and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
