Jermaine Husser is executive director of the Palmetto Warrior Connection, a community integration project focused on assisting post 9/11 warriors transition back into community with education, employment, housing, mental health support and benefits. He was the former South Carolina State Director of StudentsFirst, the advocacy non-profit started by Michelle Rhee to focus on the quality of public education at the local and national levels. Before that, he was CEO of the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank and Executive Director of the Lowcountry Food Bank, where he began as Agency Relations Coordinator. Jermaine's community activities in South Carolina include the Chamber of Commerce Leadership Charleston Steering Committee, Crisis Ministries Board, Trident Technical College Foundation Board, Charleston Rotary Club (past president), and Leadership Charleston. He has been a mentor for North Charleston High School and Sanders Clyde Elementary students and was on the Transition Team for Governor Nikki Haley. Jermaine completed coursework in General Business Management at Trident Technical College. He is a Fellow of the tenth class of the Liberty Fellowship and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
