Chakisse Newton runs her own firm - Cardinal Consulting - which provides marketing and sales consulting services across various industries. Prior to starting Cardinal Consulting in 2005, she was a Director of Sales and Marketing for Lexicode, a national health care consultancy. She was also the Marketing Manager for i2 Technologies and the International Franchise Coordinator for Jani-King International. Chakisse serves on the boards of United Way of the Midlands, Columbia Opportunity Resource (past chair), Greater Columbia Chamber of Commerce and Richland Library Friends. She is a previous member of the Navigating from Good to Great Foundation Board and the United Way of the Midlands Campaign Committee. She is a graduate of the Riley Institute Diversity Leaders Initiative and Leadership Columbia. She earned her Bachelor of Arts, Phi Beta Kappa, summa cum laude, in International Relations from Boston University. Chakisse lives in Columbia.
