Gian Castillero is part of the Arias, Fabrega & Fabrega team of lawyers since 1994. His principal areas of practice include corporate and commercial law, state organization, and maritime law. Castillero was attorney resident in the London office of Arias, Fabrega & Fabrega from 1994 to 2000 and coordinator of the Maritime Finance Department and Ship Registry from 2000 to 2006, actively engaged in transactions of the sale and financing of ships. Currently, Castillero directs the international corporate services department of Arias, Fabrega & Fabrega. He is responsible for administrative oversight of its network of offices in the British Virgin Islands, Belize, London, Geneva, Luxembourg and Hong Kong. Castillero is actively involved in advising private clients on a wide range of topics covering estate planning, structuring and administration of foundations and trusts, private companies advising various foreign jurisdictions (including Panama, British Virgin Islands, Belize and Hong Kong), philanthropic and tax planning and advising clients in institutional and commercial clients in corporate matters. Castillero is president of the International Lawyers Association and a member of the Comision Alto Nivel designed by the National Government for the protection of international services in Panama. Previously, he presided the commission put forth by Maritime Authority of Panama to draft the actual General Law of the Marina Mercante Panameña. He is a Fellow of the seventh class of the Central America Leadership Initiative and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
