Bio:
Cecilia Dougherty is the currently on her third term as president of the Carlos F. Novella Foundation, related to Cementos Progreso in Guatemala, which supports education in various programs, skill generation citizenship and community streghtning approaches . She is also president of the board in PAVA, an NPO currently working with rural community libraries and high school scholarships, with which Cecilia has been involved for 18 years. A board member in CentraRSE -Center for Social Responsability- in Guatemala. A well-renowned dancer and performing arts manager, Cecilia has performed in the country and abroad with dance, theatre, and opera. In 2007 she was awarded Best Actress in the Central American Icaro Film Festival and an "Emerging Artists" medal in 1990 in Guatemala. She holds a B.A. in management from Universidad Francisco Marroquín and a B.A. in dance from Universidad de San Carlos. Fellow of the eighth class of the Central America Leadership Initiative.
