Karim Faraj is a member of the board of directors of the Tegucigalpa's Chamber of Commerce and Industries (Cámara de Comercio e Industrias de Tegucigalpa), where he heads efforts to promote entrepreneurship and innovation through the flagship project Honduras Emprende, which he directs. As acting General Manager of Farmacéutica Internacional S.A. (Farinter), Medilab S.A., Cosmética Internacional S.A. (COINSA), and member of the board of directors Grupo Farinter, he is an active business leader with a long term vision, focused on continuous growth through strengthening of the group's core businesses. Strong believers in corporate social responsibility, Grupo Farinter personnel created Fundación Kielsa, an initiative that Karim currently helps lead to promote the healthy development of more than 1,500 children in their first 1,000 days of life. Karim attended the University of Texas at Austin where he majored in chemical engineering and later obtained his M.B.A. He is a Fellow of the eighth class of the Central America Leadership Initiative and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
