Bio:
Gustavo León Gómez started his private practice 1994 as a partner pf León-Gómez & Associates. In 1999 he became a partner at J.R. Paz & Asociados, where he leads the international practice. In 2005, he was one of the founding partners of the regional firm Consortium Centroamérica Abogados, based in the Tegucigalpa, where he currently develops his practice in banking law, with a special emphasis on corporate and personal credit agreement structuring, counseling local financial institutions, specially credit card companies and international credit transactions, including the structuring of guarantees for syndicated loans. He has also developed his practice in litigation and arbitration, forming part of the first generation of arbitrators certified by the Chamber of Commerce and Industries of Tegucigalpa and is currently arbitrator for Honduras of the Inter American Commercial Arbitration Commission. He has appeared in two occasions as lead counsel before the Central American Court of Justice, in Managua Nicaragua, as part of his practice in Central American Communitarian Law. Gustavo holds a LLM in Global Business Law from Suffolk Law School, Boston Massachusetts and has completed Postgraduate studies in International Business Law at Georgetown University Law Centre, Washington D.C. and Central American Institute for Business Administration (INCAE). Gustavo obtained his Juris Doctor from the National Autonomous University of Honduras Law School (1994). He is a Fellow of the third class of the Central America Leadership Initiative and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
