Ana Maria Vallarino is the Vice-President of Real Estate Development for Grupo VerdeAzul (GVA), handling several projects in Panama City and beach areas on Panama’s Pacific coastline. Mrs. Vallarino is a member of the Board of Directors of VerdeAzul Hotels and several of GVA's housing projects; as well as founding member for WCD Panama (Panama's chapter for Women Corporate Directors). Mrs. Vallarino is an active advocate for Panama's cultural heritage preservation, through Fundación Mua Mua. Previous to this, in 2010, she took post as Sales & Marketing VP of Desarrollo Turistico Buenaventura, which handled the development and sales for Buenaventura Resort. In 2008, she joined GVA as Project Manager in charge of managing, planning, supervising, and executing special and timely projects for VerdeAzul Hotels. She completed university studies at the University of Virginia in the United States in 2004, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree, including a specialization in Sociology. Ana is a Fellow of the 10th class of the Central America Leadership Initiative and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network. She recently joined the leadership initiative for gender equality in conjunction with Panama’s Government, the Inter-American Development Bank and the World Economic Forum.
