Bio:
Isabel de Saint Malo is the Former Vice President and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Panama (2014–2019). She has extensive international experience across multilateral organizations, government, and the private sector. Her work has centered on stakeholder engagement, partnership-building, and advising on strategies to achieve both public and corporate goals. She brings specialized expertise in geopolitical analysis, with a particular focus on Latin America from a government and corporate perspective.
Isabel currently serves as a member of the Board of Trustees of the International Foundation for Reporting Standards (IFRS) and as a member of its Executive Board. Advises multilateral organizations, corporates and governments in public policy and development with a particular focus on transparency, sustainability and gender balance.
She is passionate about building a better world and believes in the transformative power of purpose as the key driver of success. She is a former Fellow of Harvard University's Advanced Leadership Initiative, where she worked alongside faculty to address some of the world's most pressing challenges and lead business transformation efforts to create meaningful solutions. She has also been a Fellow at the Institute of Politics, where she led a Study Group on the Sustainable Development Goals and the Latin American development agenda. Additionally, she is a Fellow of the Central American Leadership Initiative and the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
Isabel is also actively engaged in several organizations, including the Global Women Leaders Group (GWL), the Editorial Board of Americas Quarterly, the Inter-American Dialogue and of the Board of Women Political Leaders Global Forum (WPL). She has led numerous Electoral Observation Missions for the Organization of American States during Presidential Elections in Latin America.
Born and raised in Panama where she currently resides with her husband. They have three adult children.
