Bio:
Yara Argueta is president of Lapco -Grupo Solid, S.A., a paint company leading the market with operations from Guatemala to Panama. She was previously regional director of the Paleta stores (2001-2005). She was director of industrial engineering at Universidad Rafael Landivar (URL), her alma mater, where she was previously a professor of business administration and marketing. Before that, she was the student representative at the University Board Committee of URL. She has been an electoral coordinator appointed by the Supreme Electoral Tribunal for the 2007 presidential elections, and she was a delegate for the 1999 and 2004 presidential elections. She received her MBA from INCAE (2005) with honors and her undergraduate degree in industrial engineering from Universidad Rafael Landivar (URL) summa cum laude (1999). She is a Fellow of the third class of the Central America Leadership Initiative and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
