Bio:
Carmen Irene Alas is a senior executive with over 25 years of experience and sound knowledge of the Central American region. Throughout her ventures, she has established strong relationships with Companies, NGOs, Academia and Guilds. She is currently Executive Director of CIA Consulting Group, a regional firm which, over the course of seven years, has built ad-hoc ecosystems for its clients, through the design and implementation of communication, social media, PR and Corporate Affairs strategies which have contributed to value creation and sustainability. For Carmen Irene, the key is innovation and delivery of creative solutions for her clients. Alongside the firm Statknows, she added marketing and public opinion surveys through the use of artificial intelligence and machine learning to her portfolio. In 1998 she co-founded Estrategia & Negocios Magazine. By holding the Executive Director position until 2013, she was responsible for directing and coordinating the group’s editorial content, the business intelligence unit, and the development and promotion of vital and complementary online content. Carmen Irene held the position of Executive Director for the Central American Leadership Initiative from 2010 to 2012. She also served as President and Co-Founder of the Vital Voices chapter for El Salvador, from 2008 to 2012. She has two bachelor degrees, one in Business Administration and one in Economics from Dr. José Matías Delgado University in El Salvador. She is a Fellow of the second class of the Central American Leadership Initiative (CALI), a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network. She is a proud grandmother of Julian and Sebastian, and mother to three children, María José, Juan Diego, and Javier.
