Bio:
Renata Villers is Founder and Executive Director of Amigos del Aprendizaje (ADA), a leading NGO dedicated to improving the quality of public education in Costa Rica. ADA seeks to transform the way children learn to read and write, to support their active participation in the knowledge society. ADA trains preschool and primary teachers through online professional development; runs a national writing contest with thousands of annual children and teacher participants; and facilitates informed dialogue to improve reading education reform in Latin America through convening ProLEER (the Professional Learning network for Early Education Reform) that meets annually at Harvard University. Renata serves on the advisory committee of the State of Education Program in Costa Rica; the advisory council of Fundacion Monge; the organizing committee of TEDxEducation; the advisory council of Fundacion Monge and the Board of United World College Costa Rica. Prior to ADA, Renata worked as an international consultant in strategic planning and collaborations development. She is a magna cum laude graduate of Harvard University, in economics and holds an MBA from the Columbia Business School. Renata is a Fellow of the Central America Leadership Initiative.
