Bio:
Congresswoman Marcia Facusse de Villeda is the Alternate Second Vice President of the Honduran National Congress. She also presides over the Family and Children Commission of Congress. She is a member of the Telecommunications, Finance, and Women's Commissions. She served as director of the First Lady's Office at the Family and Children's Institution (INFHA). When Honduras was devastated by Hurricane Mitch in 1997, she was named the official government liaison to the World Food Program. She was also a close collaborator with then President of Honduras, Carlos Roberto Flores de Facusse. She obtained a business administration degree from (UNITEL) Universidad Tecnologica at Honduras while raising her children. Her professional background is in business administration and media communications. She is the business manager for her family owned television production enterprise. Her voluntary activities include the Teleton Foundation focused on handicapped children, the Torax Hospital's Advisory Committee. She was born and raised in Honduras and is of Arab descent. She is married and has 4 American children. She is a Fellow of the second class of the Central America Leadership Initiative and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
