Bio:
Roberto Paiz is the managing partner in BRIX, an advertising and communication agency he started in 2016. He was the managing director for TV Azteca Guatemala, the Mexican conglomerate local TV branch, from 2011 to 2015. Between 2003 and 2010 he was managing director for INMACO, a clay brick and tile manufacturing company. Beforehand, Roberto worked in the Netherlands as a black belt in change management within the different businesses in Royal Philips Electronics. He returned to Guatemala motivated by the need to improve his country. Roberto now coordinates the Alliance for Nutrition. This Alliance coordinates all the efforts from the private sector to lower the chronic malnutrition in the country. He was president of Azteca Foundation, in Guatemala, where he started successful projects in drug prevention, environmental awareness, and cultural development for youngsters. He serves as a board member in FUNDESA (Fundación para el Desarrollo). Within GuateAmala, he founded a youth volunteer project called Weavers aimed at accelerating cultural change. For two years he volunteered, as the attitude coach for the multiple national football teams, helping them qualify Guatemala for its first world cup in Colombia 2011. Roberto holds an MBA from Katholieke Universiteit Leuven and a mechanical engineering degree from the University of Idaho, both cum laude. He is a fellow of the 11th class of the Central American Leadership Initiative of the Aspen Institute.
