Bio:
Dr. Cecilia Monge joined the Thoracic and GI Malignancies Branch as Staff Oncology Physician in 2019 after finishing her oncology fellowship with an outstanding academic award at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). She holds a Masters degree in public health from the Johns Hopkins University, Bloomberg School of Public Health and was selected to participate in the Global Clinical Scholars Research Training Program at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Monge completed her internal medicine training at Georgetown University after graduating from the Universidad de Costa Rica Medical School. Dr. Cecilia Monge is the recipient of multiple national and international academic and research awards in oncology and internal medicine. She serves as a reviewer for various oncology academic journals and is a member of the American Academy of Cardiology (ACC) Cardio-Oncology Guidelines Writing Committee and the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Trainee Council. Dr. Monge also serves on the NIH National Cancer Institute Institutional Scientific Review Board (IRB) for Clinical Studies and she is a fellow of the American College of Physicians.
