Title and Organization:
David has led Maverick’s private investments since he joined Maverick in 2004. Maverick Ventures was established in 2015. Previously David was founder and CEO of three companies: Affymetrix; Corcept Therapeutics; and Genesoft Pharmaceuticals. David currently serves on the boards of private companies in healthcare and software-driven marketplace businesses, and one public company, Castlight Health. During his career, David has served on the boards of 19 private companies including five that became public companies during his service. David received a B.A. from Yale University and an M.B.A. from Stanford University. He was a Crown Fellow of the Aspen Institute and a member of the Rand Corporation’s Health Advisory Board. He is currently Vice Chair of College Track and was formerly Vice President of the San Francisco Health Commission. He lives in San Francisco with his wife Diana Kapp, and their three kids.
