Bio:
John is an entrepreneur focusing on the intersection of education and technology. He is currently the CEO of Flourish Schools, a new AI-first network of elementary schools opening their first school in August 2025. He is the Chairman of Project Read, an AI reading tutor for students in elementary schools, and Chairman of SparkSpace, an AI writing tutor for students in upper elementary, middle and high school. John is also an angel investor in media and education. Some of his early investments include AppLovin, Outschool, Synthesis, Maven, Abwaab, and Stepful. John's first company, NetGravity created the first Internet adserver. John took it public in 1998 and sold it to Doubleclick (acquired by Google) in 1999. John holds a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University and a Master's Degree in Education Policy from Vanderbilt University. John is an Ashoka Fellow, a 1999 Henry Crown Fellow of the Aspen Institute, a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network, and the 2010 winner of the Aspen Institute's McNulty Prize for social entrepreneurship.
