Zack Herlick joined the firm of Brownson, Rehmus and Foxworth in October 2006, advising wealthy families on how best to manage their interests. Zack was formerly a general partner at Maveron LLC, a Seattle-based venture capital fund he started with Howard Schultz, chairman and former CEO of Starbucks Coffee Company, and he was also an associate with Mayfield Fund, a top-tier Silicon Valley-based firm. In 1992, Zack co-founded Red Herring Communications, publisher of The Red Herring Magazine and Redherring.com. He graduated at the top of his class at Phillips Academy, Andover, earned a BA from Stanford University, Phi Beta Kappa with Distinction, and received a joint JD/MBA from Stanford Law School and Stanford Graduate School of Business. He and his family now live in the California Bay Area. Zack is a member of the 2005 class of Henry Crown Fellows and the Aspen Global Leadership Network at the Aspen Institute.
