Bio:
Keith is a member of the boards of Bessemer Trust Old Westbury Funds, The Bessemer Trust National Gift Fund, Virtus Funds, and Virtus Closed-End Funds representing more than USD 100 billion in fiduciary obligations. Keith is also a senior adviser to RxCap LLC, a medical technology company, and Grain Technologies LLC, a fintech company. Keith previously served for over 15 years on the boards of BlueCrest Capital Management LLC funds (a long/short hedge fund) and Systematica Management LLC funds (a quant trend fund). He also is a founding Principal and was Chief Administrative Officer at Global Infrastructure Partners LLC.
In addition, Keith serves as a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and The American Law Institute and is a former member of the Trilateral Commission. He is also a member of the 2005 class of Henry Crown Fellows and the Aspen Global Leadership Network, of the Aspen Institute.
Until recently, Keith Walton served as Managing Director, Partnerships, of Lafayette Square Holding Company LLC, which invests in funds and businesses owned and led by people of color and women. He also served as venture partner of Plexo Capital LLC. Prior to that service, he was Advisory Vice President for Strategic Industry Collaboration for Arizona State University and held a similar role overseeing global strategy with Zero Mass Water, Inc. In addition, Keith was the Vice President of Government Affairs for Alcoa Inc., which was one of the largest aluminum manufacturers worldwide.
Keith has served as the Executive Vice President and Secretary of Columbia University in the City of New York. He also worked at the U.S. Department of the Treasury as chief of staff to the Undersecretary of Enforcement, the Treasury's chief law enforcement official, and assisted the Undersecretary in supervising the U.S. Secret Service; U.S. Customs Service; ATF; IRS-Criminal Investigative Division; the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center; the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network; and the Office of Foreign Assets Control. While at Treasury, Keith also served as deputy director of the White House Security Review.
Keith began his career at the Atlanta law firm of King & Spalding. He is an honors graduate of Yale and the Harvard Law School, and clerked for the Honorable U.W. Clemon, Chief Judge (retired) of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Alabama.
