James leads product management teams working on generative AI (GenAI) at Meta. Previously, he led product teams for software and AI development and global connectivity efforts at Meta. Before Meta, he served as CEO and later SVP of Engineering of ShotSpotter (NASDAQ: SSTI, now Sound Thinking). Previously, he was chairman and CTO of WebPutty, an enterprise software company subsequently acquired by Charles River, of which he had previously served as the Company's president and CEO. He holds nine patents and has published peer review articles in fields ranging from medical informatics to user interface design. James is a cum laude graduate of Yale University and studied Computer Science at Columbia University.
