Bio:
Linda is a seasoned CEO with over 25 years of experience creating global strategy and driving innovation. As a native of the Silicon Valley, with an extensive network, she has served as a bridge between the Silicon Valley and the Global 1000 her entire career. She launched mach49 as the first Silicon Valley incubator/accelerator focused exclusively on helping Global 1000 companies Disrupt InsideOut — creating, building and launching new ventures generated from within their organizations and Disrupt OutsideIn — designing and operating world-class corporate venture groups. In addition to creating new ventures, Mach49 builds the client’s capability and infrastructure to create a pipeline and portfolio of new ventures on an ongoing basis and to manage the mothership so it understands the from-to shifts required to ensure new ventures can reach escape velocity. Linda spent a decade as a member of the Board of Directors for NYSE-traded Sybase Inc. (now SAP) and has been a board member and advisor to many entrepreneurs and private companies. Linda was CEO of Strategos – a leading international strategy consulting firm she co-founded with business guru Gary Hamel, helping G1000 clients innovate in fundamentally new ways by “Bringing the Silicon Valley Inside.” Prior to Strategos, she spent six years with the Mac Group/ Gemini where she was Head of the San Francisco office, co-head of the High Tech practice on the West Coast and, later, Europe (based in Amsterdam). She spent two years at Smith Barney in corporate finance and M&A and has extensive global experience having worked in / traveled to over 60 countries. Linda is a Henry Crown Fellow with the Aspen Institute. She is a 21st century education pioneer, including working to transform public schools and co-founding Creekside Learning Lab as a demo site for best practices in 21st century learning. She holds a BA in Foreign Affairs from the University of Virginia and a MA in International Relations and Comparative Politics from Stanford University where she guest lectures. Linda feels blessed to be married to her best friend, Paul Holland, General Partner, Foundation Capital, with whom she has three awesome daughters, Kylie, Devon and Piper, and built Tah.Mah.Lah (http://www.tahmahlah.com/), considered the greenest home in the US.
