About

[Edit]

First Name:
Anne
Last Name:
Devereux-Mills
Title and Organization:
Founder, Chief Instigator, Parlay House
Bio:
After a 25-year career as an Advertising executive, Anne launched her next life chapter by founding Parlay House. It's the first women's community that invites all women into conversations that are desperately needed but aren't happening in other parts of their lives. Members join live events, digital gatherings and online forums featuring speakers sharing their journeys, wisdom, and topics that stretch participants’ thinking and touch their hearts. Based on her experience in the Henry Crown Fellowship, the speakers and topics serve as catalysts for conversations that reach far and dig deep. In her spare time, Anne is the Co-Host of the highly acclaimed podcast series Bring a Friend and the author of the best-selling book The Parlay Effect: How Female Connection Can Change the World. Her latest writing endeavor is a newly released children’s book, Etta’s Loud Pink Dress. She’s thrilled to have recently reunited with her creative self and expresses her inner maker through various media, including fabric, fiber, and clay. In her past life, Anne was a mentor for SHE-CAN, the Executive Director of The Return, an Emmy-nominated documentary about the experience of people returning to society post-incarceration, the Director of the Healthy Body Image Program at Stanford University as well as the Board Chair of Marchex (MCHX) and a Board Member of Lantern and National Home Healthcare. She and her husband, David, were the lead sponsors of California’s Proposition 36, which restored fairness in sentencing to the State’s excessive Three Strikes Law. Anne's diverse involvements testify to the endless possibilities of personal development and community building.
