Bio:
Markku served as Chairman of the Board for Reka Industrial PLC, a Finnish publicly listed investment company for which he previously served as Managing Director/CEO, which invests mainly in long-term industrial investments, hedge funds, shares and other securities. One of their primary investments is the REKA Corporation, which Markku ran from 2002 until 2008. REKA is a privately held, family-controlled Finnish industrial conglomerate with interests in cable, shoes, rubber and real estate, with operations in Scandinavia, Russia and Eastern Europe. Prior to that, he was Managing Director of REKA Cables (Finlands leading manufacturer of power cables) from 1995-2001 and Market Development Manager from 1991-1995. In 2002 he attended the SEP course at Stanford University. He and his wife and two children live in Helsinki, Finland. Markku is a member of the 2003 class of Henry Crown Fellows and the Aspen Global Leadership Network at the Aspen Institute.
