Paul Gaffney is Senior Vice President of Information Technology for The Home Depot where he leads over 2,000 professionals developing world class software to transform customer and associate experiences. He was previously President and CEO of After I Go, a seed-stage venture providing peace of mind through software for estate planning. Paul has a broad background in consumer services, retailing, and software. From 2009 until 2013, he was president and CEO of the Northern California, Nevada, and Utah chapter of AAA, a 112-year old auto club that provides services to over four million members. He has held executive positions at Charles Schwab, Staples, and Office Depot, where he played a key role in bringing internet technology to consumer financial services and to traditional retailing. Paul has been an early-stage executive at two start-ups: the initial CEO of Website Pros, now web.com, and the COO of Desktone, acquired by VMWare. Paul was inducted into the Chief Information Officer Hall of Fame by CIO magazine. He lives in Atlanta, Georgia with his wife Kate; their daughter lives in southern California and their son is in college. Paul earned his A.B. in Computer Science from Harvard College and has completed graduate coursework in Psychology at Harvard University. He is a 2009 Henry Crown Fellow of the Aspen Institute as well as a member of and Moderator for the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
