Bio:
Bill Berkman is an entrepreneur and investor with extensive expertise in digital infrastructure, including wired and wireless telecommunications, data centers, related technologies, and the energy sector. He is the co-founder and former Co-Chairman and CEO of Radius Global Infrastructure, Inc., which was taken private by EQT and PSP in late 2023.
Previously, Bill served as Co-Managing Partner at two successive private equity and growth investment partnerships: Associated Partners, LP, and its predecessor, Liberty Associated Partners, LLC. These partnerships, affiliated with Liberty Media Corporation, held controlling interests in communications infrastructure companies.
Bill co-founded and served as Chairman of Current Group, LLC, a company specializing in broadband communication and smart grid services for consumers and electric utilities. Additionally, he co-founded several other telecommunications companies, including Teligent, Inc. and Nextel Mexico.
He currently serves on the boards of directors for The Partnership for New York City and the Partnership Fund for New York City. His prior board memberships include publicly traded companies such as CMGI, Inc., Empire State Realty Trust, IAC/InterActiveCorp, Liberty Satellite & Technology, Inc., and Teligent, Inc.
An innovator in his field, Bill holds numerous patents related to smart electric grid and communications systems. He earned an A.B. from Harvard University, where his family established the Berkman Center for Internet & Society at Harvard Law School in 1997. He is also a member of the Aspen Institute’s 2009 class of Henry Crown Fellows.
