Title and Organization:
Pete joined Abbott in 2004 and is currently responsible for the long term technology strategy for Abbott’s Diagnostics Businesses. Over time, the position has evolved to oversee numerous major functions including : Technology Assessment; Licensing; New Technology Acquisition; Strategic Scientific Collaborations and Intellectual Property Strategy. Prior to joining Abbott, Pete worked in the Office of Technology and Intellectual Property at the University of Chicago (The ARCH Development Corporation) where he became a recognized expert in early-stage technology generation and commercialization. He earned a B.S. in Biological Sciences from the University of Illinois at Urbana, and a J.D. from DePaul University College of Law. Pete is a member of the 2009 class of Henry Crown Fellows at the Aspen Institute.
