Bio:
Fabricio Altamirano is the chief executive officer of Altamirano Publishing, which includes the daily newspapers El Diario de Hoy and MAS (which he founded in 1994 and which rose to become third in the market), and the website elsalvador.com (which he founded in 1998). In his 19 years as CEO, Fabricio has been responsible for their commercial and administrative strategy and execution, as well the editorial and content policy. In 2004, he founded the commercial printing company, Albacrome-one of the two largest commercial printing plants in Central America and the Caribbean focusing on printing school books, catalogues and magazines. Fabricio has twice served as President of the local chapter of the Young Presidents Organization. He was co-founder and is current President of The Monica Herrera School of Communications, an accredited university in El Salvador with over 300 undergraduate students working towards Bachelor of Arts degrees in both Communication and Design. Fabricio serves on the executive board of the Inter-American Press Association, an 800 member, 50 year-old organization that monitors and fights for freedom of the press in the region. He has chaired the Internet Committee and currently chairs the Journalistic Excellence Committee. Fabricio received his B.A. in Finance from Syracuse University in 1988. Fabricio is 2010 Henry Crown Fellows of the Aspen Institute and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
