Marci Zaroff pioneered the market for ECOfashion®, a term she coined and trademarked in 1995 to define the fusion of style and sustainability. She is founder and former CEO of leading sustainable lifestyle brand Under the Canopy. She is currently Founder and CEO of MetaWear, the nation's first sustainable apparel manufacturing facility, and Co-Founder of BeyondBrands, a conscious consulting agency. Previously, Marci co-founded an educational center and "health coach" certification program, known today as "The Institute for Integrative Nutrition". Marci speaks worldwide on sustainable textiles and green business, and was a key driver in defining US and global standards for organic fiber and Fair Trade textile certification. She is on the Board of Directors of the Organic Trade Association, Textile Exchange, AllergyKids Foundation, Cradle to Cradle Institute's "Fashion Positive", and Turning Green, and is Producer of "Thread | Driving Fashion Forward", unveiling the human and environmental impacts of the fashion industry. Marci was selected as New York Moves' "Top 25 Power Women", received the Natural Product Industry's "Socially Responsible Business Award", Fashion Group International's "Rising Star Award", and Retail Touchpoints' "Retail Innovator Award." Marci is also featured in the book "ECO AMAZONS: 20 Women Who Are Transforming the World." She has a Finance and Marketing degree from the Haas Business School of the University of California, Berkeley. Marci is a 2010 Henry Crown Fellow of the Aspen Institute and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
