Bio:
Scott Heiferman is a community-builder who believes that bringing people together IRL is essential for future society. Scott co-founded and is Chairman of Meetup, the world's leading online-to-offline community network. Over 100 million people have signed up for local Meetup communities that meet IRL around thousands of interests in cities everywhere. In December 2017, Meetup became an independent subsidiary of The We Company (WeWork). Scott started Meetup after seeing the potential for community renewal around the tragedies of 9/11. He graduated from the University of Iowa, is a Henry Crown Fellow of the Aspen Institute, was the recipient of the National Conference on Citizenship's Jane Addams Award, and was named MIT Tech Review's Innovator of the Year. He graduated from the University of Iowa and is an NYC dad of two.
