Bio:
Andrew Harding currently serves as chief execurive for bulk freight operator Aurizon. Prior to this, he was chief executive officer of Rio Tinto's extensive iron ore product group, accountable for operations and projects in Australia, Canada and India and for Rio Tinto Marine. Andrew also had Rio Tinto ExCo responsibility for China, Japan and Korea. Andrew previously spent three years as chief executive of the Rio Tinto Copper product group, responsible for a range of operations and projects around the world. This included the development of the world-class Oyu Tolgoi copper-gold mine in Mongolia. His career has also included being President and Chief Executive Officer at Rio Tinto's Kennecott Utah Copper in Salt Lake City. Andrew holds an MBA from Deakin University and a Bachelor of Mining Engineering degree from the University of New South Wales. Andrew has been active in the many communities in which he has lived and worked. Most recently he has focused on initiatives that more directly link the community with local mining operations, including school and vocational education and opportunities for small and medium size businesses. He is chair of the Rio Tinto Community Investment Fund and a board member of the Black Swan State Theatre Company. He is also a member of The University of Western Australia's Energy and Minerals Institute Board of Trustees. Andrew is based in Perth, Western Australia. He is married to Jen and has three children. He is a 2012 Henry Crown Fellow of the Aspen Institute and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
